July 2007 - German PA company RWS-Konzerttechnik is providing production audio for the world tour of Grammy-nominated Norwegian
artist Jan Garbarek. One of the most challenging gigs on their journey took place in Venice, at the Jazz Festival, where the Jan
Garbarek Group was booked to play in the newly-restored La Fenice opera house.
Every piece of equipment for the show had to be delivered to the theatre by boat! Happily, RWS-Konzerttechnik boss Gert
Rickmann-Wunderlich had specified compact loudspeaker systems, powered by four CAMCO Vortex 6 amplifiers, so the whole PA could
be loaded without sinking the gondolas.
"The combination of CAMCO's Vortex 6 and Nexo's GEO S is still my favourite for this kind of sound reinforcement task," says
Rickmann-Wunderlich. "As one of the first companies in Germany to use this system on tours, and after over 250 concerts at
different venues, we are still amazed at how brilliantly it works and how reliable the the software forecasts are. A further
benefit is that it's relatively easy to transport. The complete sound system for this production fits into a Sprinter van and yet
can serve theatres with up to 1200 seats."
