January 2008 - British PA company SSE Audio Group chose CAMCO Vortex units to amplify the City of Liverpool's big moment - the
huge outdoor celebration which marked the start of Liverpool's year as European City of Culture.
With a rare appearance by former Beatle Ringo Starr, the ceremony attracted well in excess of 40,000 proud Liverpudlians out into
the cold January night. Although the show was just 35 minutes long, it was full of drama, celebrity, pyrotechnics, dramatic
projection and the sight of 150 guitarists playing on the rooftops of Liverpool's city centre.
