News CAMCO Networks in Bielefeld Convention Centre
April 2008 - PA company Sound Linear has included CAMCO Vortex and Tecton amp designs in a new digitally-networked sound reinforcement system, designed for the Bielefeld Convention Centre.

The Stadthalle Bielefeld, with its highly modern design, has made a name for itself in Germany as a first-class congress and events centre, and has become the focus of the cultural scene and events infrastructure in eastern Westphalia. The smaller of its two halls, capable of seating nearly 800 people has just been renovated, and Bielefeld City Council took the opportunity to install a new sound reinforcement system.

Paderborn-based company Sound Linear, together with Norbert Sangermann from CAMCO, successfully proposed a system design featuring new NEXO line array modules powered by CAMCO amplifiers in a digital audio network.

EtherSound was used to link the main sound reinforcement system and the existing near-field speakers to the digital mixing desk, another new purchase. A NEXO NX242-ES4 was installed as the controller, while the near-fields, powered by a newly-installed CAMCO Tecton amplifier with an integrated UCA module including Ethersound link, were equalized, limited and delayed by an FIR filter set.

After the first successful events with the new sound system, Lutz Lessmann is not only impressed by the sound produced by the NEXO GEO S12 arrays: "The special FIR filter setups in the near field speakers have brought about such a lasting improvement in the 6"/1" systems that, with the new amp, it's hard to believe they are the same ones."
