January 2009 - Throughout Germany, sound company Lleyendecker GmbH has used CAMCO Vortex amplifiers to power a long list of
national and international artists taking part in the unique Street Gigs Series, sponsored by T-Mobile.
Taking the best bands to the most unexpected locations: that is the mission of T-Mobile's `Street Gigs' Series. Germany's leading
mobile communications company has transformed a wrecking yard into a concert venue for punk rockers Billy Talent. In one of the
largest Street Gigs events, the Kaiser Chiefs became the first band to play a concert under the famous, historically-listed roof
construction of Munich's Olympic Stadium. Other top shows included Revolverheld playing in an observatory, Maximo Park in a moat,
Clueso on a train platform and Simple Plan in a maze.
The unique selling point of the Street Gigs is their secrecy. Locations are kept secret until the last minute, and the 800-2000
guest tickets are only available to the winners of T-Mobile raffles. All concerts are recorded for later broadcast on
MTV.
Under the direction of Björn Pergande, the Wuppertaler-based acoustic specialists of Lleyendecker GmbH have deployed line
array systems for the Street Gigs, with configurations varying according to the nature of the location. Drawing on a substantial
inventory of CAMCO Vortex amplifiers and NEXO GEO D modules with CD18 subbass units, the Lleyendecker team was able to achieve
maximum flexibility, whether ground-stacking or flying the main PA.
