July 2004 - The Tecton Series of amplifiers has been nominated for one of the prestigious Technical Excellence & Creativity
Awards, or TEC Awards as they are better known, handed out annually by The Mix Foundation in the USA. Now in their 20th year,
these Awards honour outstanding technical and creative achievement in professional audio production and product design. Five
companies have been nominated in the category of Amplifier Technology. CAMCO will have to wait until the end of October to find
out if we have been successful!
The Tecton Series of power amps deliver the same standards of high-level performance, low dynamic distortion and superior sound
quality that characterises the Vortex range, but in a more accessible price bracket. Designed by Carsten Wegner, with ergonomics
by the British engineer Michael Mailling who worked on the Vortex amplifier, the Tecton amps are optimised for 4 and 2 Ohm
impedance loads, and offer three operational modes: parallel mono, bridged mono and stereo. Special features include Output
Current Monitoring, and Mains Fuse Protection.
Tecton amps are compact and light, weighing just 10kg in a 2U chassis. All models have selectable input sensitivity, clip
limiting and subsonic filter, and fascia LED indicators for Operation Mode, Clip, Signal and Output Current. Safety features
include DC Protection, mains fuse and overvoltage protection. A Simple-Remote-Control is available as an option.
