CAMCO HITS NEW LOWS AT THE AA ARENA, MIAMI
|
|
April 2005 - Leading sound designer Terry McNeil of Pro Sound - Miami has put together a hugely powerful CAMCO-powered NEXO
system for DJs Sasha and Digweed, playing the huge 20,000-capacity American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL.
Concert Systems USA, (Gulfport and Tampa), provided 29 CAMCO Vortex amps for the main system alone, which used an unusual
combination of NEXO GEO T, GEO S and Alpha. Says designer McNeil, ''at the peak of the night, I metered the system at 117dB-A
Weighted. The clarity was amazing.''
''The biggest surprise to me was the NEXO CD18 subwoofers. WOW!!! We stacked them 4 high under each GEO T array and delayed the
8x Alpha S2s that were down center. The result was 'bone-crushing' bass. Several employees of American Airlines Arena said that
they've never heard bass that intense from any event that has taken place at the arena.'' McNeil, who specialises in large-scale
systems for dance music events, also used CAMCO Vortex to power an Alpha E and PS15 combination for the DJ rig monitors.
Randy Frierson, owner and MD of Concert Systems USA, pulled CAMCO inventory from both his Gulfport warehouse in Mississippi and
from his new regional office in Tampa, FL.
