February 2006 - This year's Four Hills Tournament was an absolute sensation - it is the world's most prestigious World Cup
ski-jumping series and as usual attracted great spectator interest. Staged in front of tour president Dietmar Hemerka from
Innsbruck, the 8 days of the event saw over 100,000 spectators fill the arenas in Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck
and Bischofshofen.
At three of the four venues, CAMCO and NEXO were also on site. The Immenstadt company ''harmonic sound'' in co-operation with
''bestvent'', incorporated the different requirements and venue conditions for Oberstdorf and Garmisch Partenkirchen into
coherent sound reinforcement concepts.
In Oberstdorf, there was only one place that could be used to set up the sound system. But the GEO S ensured that the crowd of
24,000 was able to hear every single PA announcement clearly, wherever they were in the arena.
In Garmisch-Partenkirchen, 18,000 spectators were kept in touch with events with the help of a GEO T system. Here, the distance
of 160 m to the crowd was the particular challenge faced by Christian Heckmair, managing director of ''harmonic sound''''and his
team. The GEO T system and the necessary technical support were supplied by the Hechingen company ''AMS GmbH''.
Finally, a NEXO Alpha rig was used at Innsbruck, where the local company ''Fantasy Veranstaltungstechnik'' managed to get
excellent sound quality out of the PA system for the 18,000 people in the stadium. The NEXO loudspeakers were driven by CAMCO
VORTEX amplifiers.
Christian Heckmair's final comments on the event: ''Once again, we are more than satisfied with our decision to use CAMCO and
NEXO. For this tour, we worked together with Fantasy from Innsbruck and AMS from Hechingen and we're all really impressed by the
PA's performance. The organisers, too, were full of praise, which of course makes us very happy. The tour was especially
successful and was characterised by an excellent atmosphere in the stadia from start to finish.''
