May 2006 - At the end of every year in Berlin, the Brandenburg Gate draws hundreds of thousands of people from across Germany and
much further afield to see in the New Year. For the last 10 years, Europe's biggest Sylvester party has been officially
celebrated at the gate, with organised firework displays and live music attracting more than 10,000 spectators to the main stage
alone.
The production company Wohlthat Entertainment GmbH commissioned the Berlin-based company artecom Veranstaltungs GmbH & Co.KG to
come up with a sound design and system for the occasion. Design and production were managed by Peter Sobisiak, Johannes Raack and
Axel Falk, using a main NEXO Alpha System.
On each side of the main stage, there were 7x flown stacks of Alpha, with 4 more ground-stacked below, supplemented by a centre
cluster comprising 6x NEXO Alpha S2 for subbass. On stage, 10x NEXO PS15s were used for stage monitors, with extra PS15 and
LS1200 units for sidefill.
