May 2006 - They're the hottest band in the UK , with their debut album going triple platinum in a matter of weeks, and their
nationwide tour selling out within minutes. And, although they have been changing PA speakers, they have stayed with CAMCO for
all their UK dates.
The Arctic Monkeys, who made their breakthrough to the big time via internet downloads, have been using systems from the SSE
Audio Group for their 13 sell-out shows in the UK. Front-of-house engineer John Ashton has chosen NEXO Alpha and GEO T
loudspeakers, depending on the size and style of venue, but has used CAMCO with both systems.
''We've used NEXO's Alpha system with CAMCO amplification throughout the tour,'' explains Ashton. ''We needed a system that we
could just point and go. Alpha suits this band, because it's kind of brutal! It just says 'I'm a rock P.A.'! Vortex 6 amps were
used for the GEO T and Alpha, with Vortex 4 powering the SSE MB4 stage mon.
The Monkeys will be using the same NEXO GEO T and CAMCO combination when they take up second-headline slots at the big Reading
and Leeds festivals in the UK this summer.
